After a long trip I am back and, getting around to updating my page on here. My trip was good, I did and saw a lot, just as much if not more as on my Florida trip a few months ago.
I started my trip by heading down to C2E2 which is about as close to my backyard as a comic convention will get. Not the best convention I have been to but, in terms of networking and making connections I couldn't have expected anything better. I kept up and saw a few people that I met earlier this year in Orlando, and met some new people I look forward to keeping up with or meeting again in the future. Top Cow was one of the best booths to visit while there, they really know how to have fun at a convention!
I left Chicago right from the convention heading towards Boston, unfortunatley, I got a sinus infection while driving which made this particular part of my trip very difficult. I left the show in Chicago at about 6 PM Sun. and didn't make it to Woburn MA, were my extended family members live just out side Boston, until 1:30 AM Tues.. So because of my miserable condition I wasn't able to get any pictures while I was driving across the country, I got a couple on my way home! It took me until the Boston Convention that Sat. to fully recover.
So I was able to make the Boston show, again a little dissapointing con, this show just wasn't as well put together as last year. Anyways, I met a few interesting people and did about everything I wanted to.
Since I was over in that area of the country for a while I took advantage of that and, saw some of the sights. I took the train into Boston and walked the downtown area a day, I saw Salem and, Plymouth. I also saw as much of my family that I have out there as I could.
Finally, the end of my trip ended up being just a huge three day extravaganza, I started in off with the Ultimate Marvel Movie Marathon, did you hear about this? Select AMC movie theaters across the country played all the Marvel movies leading up to the Avengers midnight premiere so, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor 3-D, Capt. America 3-D, and The Avengers 3-D. It was awesome! I didn't get back to my Uncles house until 3:30 AM Fri. morning, I got up around 8:30 AM and started to get ready to leave, I finally head out by like 10 AM. That is why I include the Marathon in the end of my trip, it only allowed me five hours of sleep before such a long drive.
So, like I said earlier, I was able to get some pictures as I was driving my way back across the country. I rolled across the Buffalo, NY area about 6 PM and figured I would hit up Niagra Falls. Like I said in my FL trip journal entry, what the heck is a road trip good for if you can't make unschedualed stops when you come across such awesome places? So I ran around the American side of the Niagra Falls area for a couple hours taking as many photos as I could. Once the sun went down and my chances of getting good pictures was gone I left, headed towards Buffalo again, I am a huge fan of chicken wings so I thought I would take the opportunity to get myself some actual Buffalo Wings.
Finally, heading for home, I made it to about Pennsylvania before I needed some sleep around 11:30 PM, I woke around 2:30 AM Sat. and was ready to make the final stretch home. I finally made it back to WI and, figured I would keep this Party Wagon going! Instead of going right home I went north to Oshkosh and figured I would get myself some free comics because it was Free Comic Book Day. AWESOME!
Then I made my way home and you might think I would crash but, that wasn't the case, my brother was around so I ended up going to dinner with him. I didn't end up getting to bed until around 9 PM. So that brings me to here and now, I have just been trying to write and keeping in touch with some of the people I met, that includes this message and locally too, I finally got in to town and let some people that might care, I'm still alive.
So all in all, another exciting trip, who knows when or where the next will take me!
